A law student Bivek Chaudhary has filed a writ petition in Patan High Court on Sunday against Nepal Electricity Authority and Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, demanding to give prior notice to consumers via SMS or other effective means before cutting electricity.
Petitioner has mentioned about Article 27 of Constitution of Nepal, 2072 has guarantees the right to information, so he is demanded to issue Mandamus order to provide immediately notice/information to consumers before cutting the electricity for the transparency of delivery, consumers trust and effective implementation of fundamental rights.
The hearing on this writ has been scheduled for Monday.
