Pakistan has asked India for the fourth time to rethink its decision to stop the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT). India suspended the treaty after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which killed 26 people.
Pakistan is facing a serious water shortage and is urgently trying to restart the treat. Even after India carried out Operation Sindoor, Pakistan continued to send requests about the treaty.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that India will not hold talks while terrorism continues. He said, “Water and blood cannot flow together” and “talks and terror cannot go on at the same time.”
Indian government sources say that there are no plans to talk with Pakistan right now, and the treaty will stay suspended.
