Cyber case against journalist Dilbhusan Pathak

A case has been filed in the name of Journalist Dilbhusan Pathak for Cyber Crime. The District Government Attorney’s Office, Kathmandu, has filed a case against Pathak, seeking punishment under Section 47 (1) of the Electronic Transactions Act 2063 BS. The case has been filed at Kathmandu District Court seeking fine of one lakh rupees or five years imprisonment, or both for publishing illegal materials in electronic means.

Earlier on Jestha 28, arrest warrant issued againt Pathak, for publishing video showing Jaybir, son of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, about to purchase Hilton Hotel. The Cyber ​​Bureau had obtained the arrest warrant from the court after Jaybir filed a complaint claiming that the video posted on YouTube was baseless.

However, Patan high court on Asar 5 give an interim order not arrest Pathak.
