Three law students; Raja Babu Sah and Sidhartha Yadav from Prithvi Narayan Campus and Santosh Kumar Yadav Chakrabarti Habi Education Academy have filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on 2082/05/03, seeking a writ of mandamus and other appropriate orders to ban platforms such as 1xBet, Mostbet, Melbet, Binance, Bybit, and OKX.
They have also demanded a complete prohibition on the advertisement of these platforms on Google, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.
They have claimed that despite efforts by the government to ban these platforms, many such platforms are still being widely used by youths. This, they argue, is directly affecting the mental well-being of young people, harming the economy of the state, and posing a threat to national security.
